aPod Prox Reader

Description
The aPod proximity card reader can read a card or the new smaller keytag without inserting it into the reader device, as required by earlier magnetic stripe cards such as credit cards. To use, the proximity card or keytag is held near the aPod proximity reader unit for a moment. The reader usually produces a beep or other sound to indicate the card/keytag has been read. Proximity cards or keytags typically have a range of around 5 cm (2 inches) for reading. The card can often be left in a wallet or purse, and read by simply holding the wallet or purse near the reader. When a valid card or keytag is recognized by the Access Control System it then unlocks the door using a Door Strike or Magnetic (Mag) Lock.
Whatever your requirements are the aPod system can be used for a single door system that can expand to 50 doors. It sits on a network and can be distributed over multiple sites. It uses power over ethernet (PoE) for all door peripherals and requires only a browser. It is auto configuring and sets new standards for a simplicity so anyone can use it and you do not have to be a security expert to take advantage of all its features.
